The lights all over the arena go out as the opening notes of “Ambitionz Az A Ridah” kick in. When 2pac’s voice starts chiming in, green strobelights along the entrance ramp start blinking to life, its rapidity changing with the notes of the song, increasing as the staccato sections hit, going back to its regular frequent blinks. That’s when Diego de Cardenas walks out from the back, following his larger counterpart, Hector Rodriguez. Not that you’d know what order they walk out in, because until they hit the ramp, you can’t see either of them. There’s no spotlight. There’s no jumbotron video to help illuminate the scene. Just darkness, and blinking green.
When the duo hit the spot where the walkway ends and the ringside area starts, a green spotlight shines down like a shot. Hector stands there, looking at the ring, around it, checking to make sure everything’s on the level. Behind him, Diego bounces side to side on the balls of his feet, stretching his shoulders and neck. Having determined things are straight, Hector turns around and lands an open-hand smack onto Diego’s chest. Then another. A third stops Diego from bouncing. The two touch foreheads, gritting their teeth. Hector peels back first, the two fist-bump, and then Diego sprints forewards and dives under the bottom rope. Heading straight to the other side of the ring, Diego ducks his torso underneath the top rope and glares out at the crowd on the far side of the ring, then backs into the ring and continues to psych himself up.
- The Bigger Boot [Whips the opponent into the ropes, then does a leaping Yakuza front kick, either to the face or the chest (sometimes to the groin)]
All we know about Hector Rodriguez is that he is a friend of Diego de Cardenas.
Multiple time tag team champion with Diego de Cardenas in multiple federations. Doesn’t appear to have any aspirations in the realm of singles competition.
